Assembly Overview: Gazebos

Before You Begin
Our goal at GazeboCreations.com is to provide our customers with structures that can be enjoyed for a lifetime, yet are quick and easy to assemble. We believe that every project is unique, and we pride ourselves on our ability to meet all individual needs. Before you begin your project, we recommend that you spend some time exploring our site, and be sure to contact our Project Advisors with any questions you may have specific to your project.

The structure shown in this example is a 16' Vinyl Double Roof Octagon Gazebo.

Note: This overview is NOT a substitute for the Assembly Instructions, which are included with all of our structure kits. Follow your Assembly Instructions, not this general overview, while performing assembly.

Step 1 - Flooring
Our gazebos are designed to be assembled quickly and easily, and most of the work is already done for you. After doing all the necessary site preparation, you are ready to begin construction.

Arrange the pre-assembled floor sections in the order they’re marked. You’ll find the marks on the joists, toward the center of the sections. Once all the floor sections are arranged and leveled, fasten the sections together through the pre-drilled holes with the provided stainless or galvanized hardware. For extra stability, we included additional screws that can be used on the outside of the sections.

Install the center deck section and individual floor boards, until all floor boards are secured in place. You are now ready to insert the posts.

Step 2 - Posts
Insert the gazebo posts into the “pockets” that are pre-cut into the floorboards.

Plan ahead to avoid obstruction of any entrances, vantage points, or other openings that are part of your project, such as a pre-existing path that must align with the space between the posts.

It is good construction practice to ensure that all posts are level. This will provide a structure that is sturdy and aesthetically pleasing.

For applicable structures, wrap our heavy-duty vinyl sleeves over the wood posts.

Step 3 - Railings
Our railing sections come fully assembled and ready to be attached if they are included with your order.

With convenience in mind, our top railings come already attached to the braces of your choice. Our braces offer decorative support that will compliment any backyard decor.

Assembly of all railings is as easy as fastening the top and bottom railing sections to the posts, while keeping in mind where any doorways or openings should be located.

Naturally, it is best to keep the posts, railing sections, and braces level.

Step 4 - Roofing
Our roofing system is comprised of three parts:
  • A top plate which offers additional support and a means of fastening the roof panels
  • A multi-function fascia piece that holds the roof in place while providing a stylish accent
  • The roof panels themselves

Depending upon your individual project, the roofing material will vary. For cedar shingles and metal roofing, the work is already done for you.

After attaching the top plate and fascia, assembling the roof is as easy as sliding the pre-assembled panels into place, and fastening them to each other and the top plate.

Please note that with our octagon models, the roof panels are interchangeable.

For double-roof gazebos, the second roof sections will attach much like the first panels.

Step 5 - Finishing Touches
Finishing touches will vary by project. We offer a wide variety of options to personalize your structure and truly set your landscape apart. Some of our available options include:
  • Stain Colors
  • Finished Celings
  • Cupolas
  • Screen Packages
  • Window Systems
  • Weather-vanes
  • Ceiling Fans
  • Electrical Packages
  • Hurricane Resistance
  • Benches and Bench Sections

These options and others are shown, when possible, by our Design Wizard where you can plan your structure with the aid of a real-time preview. More details about these options are described in the options list of the wizard, by selecting "Details" next to the desired option.

We hope this summary has offered a clearer idea of what to expect when assembling one of our structures.

Consider our Site Preparation, Shipping Information, or Assembly Services pages as your next steps in planning the perfect project.
